Dr. Beth Orrison, PhD, LPC, ACS
Licensed Professional Counselor
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), providing warm, affirming, and trauma-informed therapy for adolescents and adults. I am deeply committed to supporting individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community and creating an inclusive space where all identities are welcomed and respected.
I earned my undergraduate degree from James Madison University and completed my PhD in Counseling at Old Dominion University in 2023. My professional experience includes both inpatient crisis stabilization and outpatient private practice, allowing me to support individuals through acute stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and major life transitions. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based and collaborative, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and solution-focused frameworks to support insight, emotional growth, and lasting change. In addition to clinical work, I have taught undergraduate and graduate-level human services and counseling courses.
I offer both individual and couples counseling through in-person and telehealth sessions.
Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and comfortable from our very first session. I believe every person has the capacity for resilience and growth, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward healing and a more fulfilling life.
I look forward to meeting you and beginning this journey toward wellness together.
