Margaret Jackson
Resident in Counseling
I am committed to helping families and children learn how to improve communication, identify emotions, and create better routines and habits that support healthy living and healthy loving. My therapy approach with young children is a mixture of Behavioral therapy and Play therapy, with the goal of having children engage in playful activities that build towards long-term behavioral changes. For adolescent and adult clients, my therapeutic approach of Person-Centered therapy mixed with ACT focuses on fostering a safe environment for clients to engage in self-discovery and self-expression as they work to incorporate their values into their goals and actions.
My previous work includes outpatient counseling where I worked with both adults and children, and group and individual counseling work at a residential substance use treatment center. My experience working in a variety of therapeutic settings has outfitted me with the expertise and tools to support my clients through addiction, stress, trauma, life transitions, child behavioral issues, family and relationship troubles, grief and loss, medical issues, emotional regulation problems, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
